Hello and a warm welcome to Durham University Ballet Company! We are one of several DU dance societies, but we specialise in ballet training and performances. We perform all across Durham for multiple societies and functions, and perform two productions a year, our most recent being a full-scale performance of Coppélia. We are a society founded through our love and passion for ballet and upheld by the impeccable standard of all our dancers. 

DUBC is entirely run and led by students, meaning that all of our executive committee and members are students at Durham University. We are also extremely fortunate to have our external teacher, Rachael Stewart, who joins us once a week to teach and elevate our potential and strive for greater excellence. Each DUBC member is incredibly talented and dedicated, with their shared love of ballet forming life-long friendships and timeless memories.

We have built a positive, wholesome and uplifting atmosphere which inspires confidence, friendship and a sense of community and provides a well-earned break from academic studies. As ballet dancers, we are continuously striving to work hard and be the best we possibly can. We repeatedly perform our own skilful choreography that is carefully crafted for each performance to challenge and encourage our dancers to reach their full potential while entertaining our audiences. This allows us to provide a wealth of opportunities for our dancers, such as performances at Castle June Ball, Durham University Charity Fashion Show and, of course, our own Summer Production at the Gala Theatre. These experiences allow for both our dancers and audiences to leave with memories that last a lifetime.
